A government schoolteacher in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, was suspended after he wrote a letter to the government complaining about his forced bachelorhood and demanding a bride. Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, a Sanskrit teacher, skipped election duty training and was issued a showcause notice. In his reply, Mishra demanded a dowry of Rs 3.5 lakh and a loan sanction for a flat.
