Congress party's six guarantees and welfare schemes, along with BRS, competed by announcing various sops. Congress made more promises than BRS, including 2 lakh loan waiver to farmers, free travel to women in RTC buses, monthly financial assistance to women, 16,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa, supply of gas cylinders at 500, and free power up to 200 units. The Congress govt may have to spend 1.2 lakh crore a year to implement various schemes, including existing ones, and 20,000 crore towards the loan waiver scheme.
