Ciara is making sure she's leveling up her girls.

The "1, 2 Step" singer reflected on her plans to implement lessons she learned from her mom Jackie Harris and other women in her family when parenting her and her husband Russell Wilson's daughters Sienna, 7, and Amora, 15 months, as they get older. 

"Individuality has always been an underlying theme of how my parents and grandparents have navigated throughout life," Ciara told Parents in an interview published March 12. "My level of independence, the spirit of individuality, confidence, and just doing what I believe in, despite what others think, is a bit of an innate thing."

She emphasized that being able to "act tall, even when you feel small" was crucial for her growth. Beyond the introspective nature of that mindset, the 39-year-old—also mom to son Win, 4, with Russell, as well as Future Zhair, 10, with ex Future—noted that recognizing other people's intentions in life helped maintain that strength.
