The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has banned nine Meitei extremist organizations operating mainly in Manipur. These organizations, including the Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA), Revolutionary Peoples' Front (RPF), and United National Liberation Front (UNLF), have been declared unlawful associations under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The ban is based on the organizations' aim to establish an independent nation through armed struggle and incite secession from India.
