Dinesh Phadnis, who played Fredricks in the popular crime show CID passed away at the age of 57 last night (December 4). The actor, who was battling for life died last night around 12 am. He was admitted to Tunga hospital in Mumbai. His last rites will take place today (December 5) and the entire star cast of the longest running show, CID is currently at his residence.
According to media reports, Dinesh was in critical condition and on ventilator support.

When ETimes TV contacted Dinesh's co-star and close friend Dayanand Shetty, he confirmed the news and said, "Yes, it's true he is no more. It happened around 12:08 am. I am at his residence right now. His last rites will be conducted today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. Almost everyone from the CID is present right now."
Dinesh Phadnis, who is popularly known as Federicks worked on one of the most popular detective shows of all time, CID, which aired on Indian television. He became a household name and garnered a lot of attention from the audiences. He worked on the show from 1998 to 2018 and like the rest of the cast was quite a hit with the kids. Ardent fans of CID and audiences loved his portrayal of a lighthearted detective. Not just CID, Dinesh also did cameo roles in another hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He has also appeared in a few films in a cameo role.
