4-year-old party ousts NDA ally, wins 2/3rd of Mizoram seats

Mizoram's electorate rejected MNF and Congress, giving a 27-seat mandate to ZPM led by Lalduhoma. Lalduhoma won from Serchhip while outgoing CM Zoramthanga lost the Aizawl East-1 seat to Lalthansanga of ZPM. Besides Zoramthanga, Mizoram had only Lal Thanhawla of Congress as CM. MNF's ouster and Zoramthanga's term ending headlined the election outcome. Congress won a lone seat and slipped to fourth behind BJP. CM-aspirant Lalduhoma stated that ZPM wouldn't be part of NDA or the opposition alliance.
