Texas Politician Bobbie Mitchell Hospitalized, Husband Dead After Being Stabbed By Grandson
More information is emerging about the attack on Bobbie Mitchell.
After an alleged stabbing attack by her grandson Mitchell Reinacher left the Texas politician hospitalized and her husband Fred Mitchell dead, police documents are shedding more light on how they say it unfolded.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by NBC 5 Dallas Fort-Worth, someone inside the victims’ home called police just before 4 a.m. on April 21, reporting someone had a knife. The staffer who took the 911 call reportedly heard screams and evidence of a struggle.
The responding officer, according to the documents, found a white, four-door vehicle parked in front of the Mitchells' home with the headlights on and passenger side door open, before hearing screams coming from within the house.
The officer said, once inside, said he found the suspect—later identified as the couple’s grandson—“standing in the hallway over the body of Fred Mitchell. Fred Mitchell was bleeding severely from stab wounds to the chest.” The officer then arrested the 23-year-old and removed him from the house.
